2026 UPCOMING TOWN WIDE REVALUATION

A Town Wide Revaluation will allow the town to have equitable values assigned to all properties. It will also help the town meet the certified ratio values required by the state. I am looking forward to working with you through this procedure.In the meantime, I may be knocking on your door to update your property information. I work very hard to treat everyone as fairly and honestly as I possibly can. Keep in mind that all properties have varying factors, so it is rare that any two properties are the same. If you feel you are being overvalued compared to your neighbor, I will definitely visit everyone in the neighborhood to make sure all are treated the same. I have found that no one minds paying their taxes as long as everyone is paying their fair share, too.

2024 Tax Information

Property Tax Bills are committed to the property owner as of April 1st, 2024
Commitment Date is July 8th, 2024
Mil Rate is 18.72
3% Discount is effective until August 7th, 2024 (We accept a postmarked date)
Tax Due Date is January 31st, 2025
Tax payments may be made with a check, cash, or debit/credit card payment(a 2.5% processing fee will be charged for card payments from our vendor, Maine PayPort)
Homestead Exemption for 2024 is $20,000
Veteran Exemption for 2024 is $4,800
Tax Abatement's may be requested until Thursday, January 9th, 2025- see application posted below
Any over payment of committed taxes will be automatically credited to the next year tax account.
Interest accrues beginning February 1st, 2025 at the rate of 8.5%. To avoid having your name in the Annual Town Report, taxes MUST be paid in full by January 31st, 2025
